Padmini No More

Very beautiful, incredibly graceful, extremely good actress... I've seen only a few Padmini movies but she would definitely figure among my favorite actresses of all time in Tamil cinema.

May her soul rest in peace...

With each passing of a public figure...the heart tugs at the memories. May that be a freedom fighter or a movie legend. May we savour the memories as we celebrate their lives.

Apparently, she decided to move back to India just about a month back

yeah, likewise.
havent seen too many of padmini's movies but she sure was a fantastic dancer. in terms of performances, her turn as Sivaji's wife in Vietnaam Veedu was wonderful, esp. in the heavy second half.
she was also lovable as the stern "paati ma" in Poove Poochoodava...RIP.

Balaji, actually, I was expecting you to do a write-up on her of some sort. The biggest challenge for a writer is to write about something he knows little about. Obviously, this would require extensive research and a willingness to learn about new things (I would very much like to think that you have both these qualities). If you have an extra hour to spare today, can you maybe do a write-up on her? I would think that would be a fitting tribute to her.. If you don't have time, that's okay!..

Saw K.R.Vijaya, Nagesh & Manorama in tears yesterday on TV and could feel their genuine pain and sorrow, but she indeed led a full life and was active until the very last day (indeed a boon that she was fortunate to have received, when both her sisters passed away at a very young age!). A very talented and revered actress indeed. May God be kind to her and rest her soul in peace!
