That definitely doesn't look like Surya in the first pic and I certainly wouldn't have identified the actress in the second photo as Tamanna, the girl from movies like Kedi and Kalloori. But those are who they are since these are two of the stills from Ayan, where the two are coming together for the first time. Apart from the leads, the film has quite an exciting team behind it. It is directed by K.V.Anand, who last gave us the good thriller Kanaa Kanden and has worked as the cinematographer for some high-profile films including Sivaji. Music is by Harris Jayaraj, who hasn't had a bad album in a really long time and who last gave us the fabulous Bheemaa. And the film is produced by AVM, who must've had their coffers filled to the brim after Sivaji.
After Ajith's Raju Sundaram-directed Aegan, I guess we can now add one more to the list of movies to look forward to in the second half of 2008.

Both 'eagan' and 'ayan' means samething.
I have been trying to translate Ayan and Aegan in to tamil in my head and coming up with blank.
Is it just me?
New Surya movie, yay!
I have no idea what 'Ayan' and 'Aegan' mean either. I certainly hope they don't use pure Tamil in either movie. Words like 'vengayam', 'vaalparai' and 'vimana nilayam' give me a head ache.

Whatever the title of the movie means both Surya and Tamanna look great in those pictures.
Having read today's paper, I think Ayan means Lord Brahma which is why people were pressing and asking whether Surya has some sort of 4 getups in the movies (crazy really!).
Anyway I agree that both Surya and Tamanna look great in those stills. I think Tamanna can be a very good actress when directed properly. She was probably the saving grace for the snoozefest that was Kallori and she did a decent job in KD also. After a couple of low-level movies, this could be the big break for her.
Being a Surya fan, I like the fact that both his upcoming movies are getting some good hype. I am hoping that he will have a good year this time around after having 2 completely forgettable ones. :)

Surya doesn't look like his usual handsome self, whatever attempt has been made to change his appearance seems to have failed, hopefully future pics. will be better.

You know, when i saw the photos for the first time at indiaglitz and i kept thinking who're these two people and guy resembled surya. I kept thinking how he could be one those new look-alike entrants to the industry, until i saw the film's Pooja pictures on indiaglitz a day or two later!
I'm quite sure with the look and glow in her face, tamaana could be possibly the next big thing in Kollywood.

Surya doesnt have immediate dates so Mysskin becomes hero. Why do directors want to act? This is just getting unbearable. Cheran, SJ Surya, Perarasu and now Mysskin the list just keeps growing. It needs to stop.

Balajisiva, kallori wasnt a snoozefest..It was one good movie..In fact it was a profitable venture..And her role in kallori that brought her fame and ayan
Suryah's last 3 movies, "aaru", "sillunu oru kathal" and "Vel" were pathetic. Probably while courting Jhotika, he did not have time to read his scripts properly. But looks like he has back in some cool stuff. Lookinf forward to this movie and "varanam ayiram"
That don't look like suriya at all... I can see Tamanna in the second picture though
Hopefully KV Anand will inject some vibrancy in what is likely to be another action/romance movie.
