American Politics Primer

If we want to teach kids anything, all we have to do is to make it a game! So I usually have a quiz for Kavya where I ask her questions from her current syllabus. Karthik being the copycat that he is, seats himself right next to big sister and wants to be involved in the quiz too. So I started feeding him questions about whatever came to mind. With presidential elections coming up, most of my questions tended to revolve around that and pretty soon, as this clip shows, Karthik became one well-informed kid! He gets a li'l help from big sis towards the end but the rest is all him :)

Balaji, very cute. Kandippa drishti suthi podunga...mazhalai innum pogalai, reminds me of Tiruvalluvar's couplet.

kuzhal inithu yaazh inithu enbar tham makkal mazhalai sol kelathvar

For those who have not read Tiruvalluvar, he says they who feel that the music from harp, flute etc is sweet have not heard a little child talk.

Razini
2. Who is daddy's favorite actress?
Chimran
3. Who directed Sivaji?
Sankar
4. What is superstar's next movie?
Kuslan
5. What is Rajini's animated movie
that daddy promised to take you?
Chultan

He's soo cute and adorable.
I love how he pronounces George Bush and Barack Obama.

I gotta agree with Fiona's questions, I surprised that was not first on the agenda as well, I mean with your kids it should be, movie trivia, multiplication tables and then politics.:D

srivatsan, innum evlo naal irukkum theriala :)

me too, dhuss buss - lol :)

swapna, good imagination :)

merino, with the lull in tamil cinema, i guess i realized its been awhile since i wrote anything about k & k :)

anon, considering ur leaning, no wonder u found his saying that cute :) hillary or obama, either of them is fine with me. just no republican please! then again, since i don't get to vote, its a moot point :)

anon/ram, thanx :)

kajan, hope both those qualities last awhile :)

padma, very sweet couplet. thanx :)

mitr/yaadayaada/shanthi, thanx :)

fiona, i'm surprised too that the first quiz wasn't on tamil cinema! but thanx for the idea. i'll start training him right away :)

sivajini, he's too young for multiplication tables but yeah movie trivia should've been first. george buss was just too funny and i just kept building on that :)
