Anne... Parotta Thalaiyaa!

Arguably the most successful comedy duo in Tamil cinema, Koundamani and Senthil probably exchanged nicer words than usual when they met at the former's daughter's wedding reception. More pics of the function, attended among others by Kamalhassan and Vijayakanth, can be seen here. Photos from the wedding can be seen here.

photo-க்கு pose கொடுத்ததெல்லாம் போதும். சீக்கிரமா மொய் எழுதிட்டு கிளம்பு :)

How old is Goundamani, BTW? He seemed to be in his 40s even in '16 Vayadhinile' and I am surprised that his daughter is getting married only now.

I'm kind of guessing that Goundar is in his 60s as we speak. I was thinking Goundar was in his late 20s or early 30s when 16 Vayadhinilae came out. Moreover, a lot of guys (back then!) used to get married late (30 or 35+ or sometimes 40+ keeping family responsibilities in mind!), so it isn't surprising that their kids are getting married only now.

all the suggestions were hilarious. i guess these spontaneous dialogs r proof as to how much of an effect the 2 had on us as a comedy duo. they created their own unique style.

shankari, i actually looked at the snaps again after ur comment and yes, thats true! quite photo shy seems like :)

So, Ram, based on what you say, it may be very possible that Goundar married only in his forties in all likelihood (which maybe 1980, 81 or so!).. assuming his wife had their first child within a year or so from the marriage date (which is still pretty typical amongst many folks in India! :-), the daughter getting married in her early twenties, is right on target (just so happens that Goundar is in his late 60s by then! :-)... Or, this daughter of his, may have been his last born (she may be getting much more limelight than she bargained for! ;-)

You know what's wierd though.. a lot of the youngsters today are pretty much facing Goundar's reality 30 years from now. Many get married late or postpone having kids for 3 or 4 years, when you fast forward through the kid's education, college years and then finally get them hitched, you are way over the hill! :-) ;-).. I know quite a few folks who are frightened by this reality (including myself!).. Not bad, Goundar, seems to be smiling pretty (not literally, of course! :-) after all these years.. he surely can be proud of himself!

Thanks guys for all y'r creative karpanai - Honestly, I have never laughed so hard in a long time.

Kounder had a rather later start in his life - only after he reached 40 or after. Boy, did he make up for that or what ?

Goundamani should be 70+. I heard that he had grandchildren in the early 90s.

Koundar's probably in his early 60's. People exaggerate a lot or make up stories. I have heard many things that, at least to me, sounds rubbish. Especially one involving Shivakumar and late Shivaji.

She is probably his last born. Even Superstar Krishna's last daughter was married a month back. He is in his 60's...about 63(?) and has teenage grandson from first daughter. Rajni is a couple of years away from the 60 mark.

BTW, Vijay turns 32 today....how time flies. Seems only yesterday, I watched Kathalukku Mariyaatha and thought, hmmm..Fazil can make even "him" look good:-)
