April 14 Releases

Sify lists 6 movies - Tirupathi, Thiruttu Payale, Azhagaai Irukkiraai Bayamaai Irukkiradhu, Pacha Kudhira, Thagappansamy and Perarasu - as being in the race for release on April 14. They also say that 4 films (I'm guessing these are the first 4 in the list) have booked theaters and are expected to release on 14th. So I guess neitherVettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu nor Pudhuppettai is being released :-(

am hoping that Parthi strikes b-o gold with Pacha Kudhira...he has a lot at stake, incl. (according to an interview in Vikatan) quite a bit of his hard-earned money...felt bad that he had to sell his house coz he was spurned by IDBI when he approached them for a loan...
and as for his "saleability" goes, he's at one of his troughs...it's been four long years (back to 2002 and Azhagi) since he's given a hit...

dont care much abt the other five releases...

Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu-- yaen innum music review ezhudhala?! or have i missed it?

Pudhupaettai-- remember u'd written abt the trailer...there was this one shot-- where someone's holding Sneha's cheeks-- that kinda piqued my interest in her role (the well-publicized one)...reg. the movie, hope it has the usual Selvaraghavan grittiness...poruthirundhu paarpom...

Nothing is special in hte given list, Acc to sify, Tirupathi going to be a testing for his career.

And after seeing interview of Parthiban, wanna to see Pachcha Kuthira..

And AIPI is from Cheran's production, Lets see Cheran going to rule as Producer also..And also I keen to watch whether the movie produced by him will also have the path of his movies

Cinematographers-turned-directors have always offered something different in their maiden attempts. So, my bet is on AIBI, which with its novel music by Yuvan, has already kindled my interest.

ferrari, so did i :(

ram, i'm hoping he finds his touch. we've endured enuf of his crappy movies hoping for 1 more gem :)

and no, i haven't written about VV music yet. coming soon :)

karthik, i'm in 2 minds about 'tirupathi'. i feel bad for ajith for all those flops and hope he has a genuine hit. but perarasu also needs to learn that vulgarity and chauvinism won't sell all the time :)

filbert, yep movies like '12b' and 'kanaa kanden' have proved that cinematographers make good directors. so i'm looking forward to AIBI too.

after Azhagi, he directed Ivan, which was pretty decent, if not spectacular...adhula aana andha "Apdi Paakarathuna Venaam" song onney podhum...after acting in classics like Kadhal Kirukkan, Soori, Thendral and Kundakka Mandaka (Kudaikkull Mazhai- that offbeat gem- got lost somewhere in just a few select discerning minds!) he needs to show the world that he can act...or at least that he can act smart ;)

After watching the promos in SunTV looks like tirupathi will be a hit. VV might just turn out to be a dud considering Kamal's track record with sucessful directors.

karthik, looks like only 'tirupathi' is being released here :)

anon, yeah i think i read somewhere that many scenes in PP were similar to 'pattiyal' and that that had set selva thinking...

ram, he still has tremendous screen presence and unique dialog delivery skills. just needs to find the right film to put them to use :)

sriram, been a while since i looked fwd to a movie that kamal was in for the director as much as i did for kamal :)

nyneishia, yes. and cheran's name as producer gives it even more promise :)
