Kuselan photos

Thalaivar looks stunningly youthful and stylish in the new pics from Kuselan. A wonderful surprise, even considering his looks in Sivaji. P.Vasu has done atleast one thing right!

Seriously Balaji, I did not expect this level of perfection from a P.Vasu movie. But I guess, he has succeeded in giving Thalaivar the look Shankar gave him in Sivaji.

40 more days for Kuselan!! Can't believe we are getting to see Thalaivar on-screen so soon!!

I've had no intention of watching Kuselan in big screen, but after seeing the stills, I'm going to :)
P.Vase isn't that bad after all.

Hi Balaji,
I check your blog everyday. Just a question, did you have a chance to watch the malayalam version of Kuselan. If so, you should put up a review. Thanks
Praveen.

"stunningly youthful" --> ada ada adaa...ena varnana! nadhiya-va pathi kooda ipdi solliruka maatenge...! i think baba was the 'best' thing that happened to rajni - ever since that ghastly appearance, his improved make-up has had fans like u saying that he looks "youthful" n all!

Looks like thalaivar has gone for some Extreme Makeover. Great packaging! Now if the the same efforts go into the screenplay, storyline and some decent logic ... we will have another cause to celebrate.

What a makeover!
Shivajirao Gaikwad (Rajni) looks quite young in this pic!
Interesting!

After the crappy make over for Baba where he looked dull and aged, Rajini has found someone who can do wonders with make up. I hope Kamal makes a note and asks Rajini to share the secret with him. Kamal is desperately in need of this guy.

What if Rajini had acted in Indian?

Indian thatha ku make up thevai illai, it would be the other way aorund:).

Hi KP,

You should make note that Rajini's make-up is not of adding external features unlike Kamal's which are reasonably a tougher task.

I personally feel that Rajini wouldn't have made justification to an old man's role, note here..it's not only the makeup, but how an actor emotes his expressions under the make-up. In that same league, Kamal has done elderly roles in Nayagan and Oru Kaithiyin Diary with minimal makeup and I think he has done a reasonably good job.

Like someone had said, it's fine to see Rajini as a white guy in a 5min song in Sivaji, but seeing him acting like a white is going to be a pain.

On the other hand I would like Kamal to seek advice on how to maintain fitness from Rajini :)

He does look dashing! I've been a fan of Rajni for over 25 years and I am still not disappointed with his movies. Says something about the man and his charisma!

I feel that he is a good human and it reflects in some cosmic way on his movies.. He is not a philanderer like many other movie stars (maybe he sowed some wild oats once upon a time) and he seems to be a spiritual person.. Good for him..

I may be stirring a hornet's nest here..but being slim and being fit are two different things.

I dont trust P.Vasu at all. Hey balaji, did u see "manichithrathazhu" the original version of Chandramukhi? "Manichithrathazhu" was a classic movie. But, P.Vasu ruined the movie by modifying the original screenplay like Vadivelu's cheap vulgar comedy track. Oh! God, seeing Vadivelu in the pics of Kuselan itself gives a warning. Anyway, will definitely watch Kuselan for Rajni. Also, please give a review of the original one "Kada Parayumpol".
Thanks,
Kalyani

Hi Bee,
' You should make note that Rajini's make-up is not of adding external features unlike Kamal's which are reasonably a tougher task.'

If you do not think a wig as an external feature, what can I say.

'I personally feel that Rajini wouldn't have made justification to an old man's role'

With all due respects and you are entitled to your opinion, Rajini was never a bad actor.

Kamal had to re-invent himself for his movies to get commercial success, Rajini has to just reappear and its paisa vasool.

Baba flopped becos Rajini tried to re-invent and he went back to his original avatar :).

Hi KP,

What I meant is prosthetic makeup.

Rajini isn't a bad actor but not a very good actor either.

Kamal doesn't resort to prosthetic makeups for commercial sucesses alone, he keeps exprementing often.
Don't mistake me, but I have felt that hardcore Rajini fans feel orgasmic pleasure just by watching him onscreen...that explains how low expectations are and why most of his movies get paisa vasool.

In Baba, well, there was nothing for Rajni to re-invent.. Did he show any acting skills like in '6 to 60' or 'Engeyo kaetta kural'? It was just an unlucky miss by Suresh Krishna and Rajni, and probably that time's political scenario (PMK) had something to do with the failure too.

As long as Pee Vasu has something to do with a movie, it means truly great things. Under his baton, he takes specialty in butchering original stories and manufacturing extra-ordinary crap from his Panakkaran to the latest Rajini-Torture fest - Chandramukhi.

Kuselan is going to be nothing different.

I dont know why this is so surprising, didn't he make Rajini look youthful in Chandramukhi?

P.Vasu did not invent anything. He just used the experience of Makeup woman Banu.
