i could not be in the least bothered watching "Vaitheswaran" and "inba". Looking at the stills itself u know they are old fashion movies. I have already given up watching Shyam's movies after "Grivalam" and "ABCD".

u gave a good review for "Santhosh subramanium" and i though u might give a 4 star rating for it. i think it deserves that rating as feel that it's a near perfect movie. Atleat a 3 1/2 star might be approriate..

Santosh Subramaniyam was definitely better than Vellithirai.I think the former surely deserved a 3*.I wud be happy if you gave the 2.5* only because it was a plain xerox copy of the original and not because a Bommarillu kinda film does not deserve a 3*.

The films this year are gradually getting better.

Being the Mani Ratnam fanatic you are, have you managed to catch up on Guru yet?

Felt the ratings for Vellithirai should be on par with YNM :) Haven't seen SS or KK yet.
Saw Nepali... It is "Gajinniyan" written in a new dark paper :) Technically slick and also is its minus.. Worth a watch. Will wait for your take.

skanda/ganesh, a big part of SS' was the fact that it was a xerox copy of 'bommarillu'. other aspects that didn't work too well for me include ravi, genelia's acting(esp. initially) and the songs :)

kutty, haven't seen it yet :)

prin, nope :(

bart, so 'Vellithirai' should've been higher or YNM should've been lower? :)

will be watching 'nepali' this week :)

among these movies, I was most curious about you guys' take on 'kannum kannum' since the mainstream reviews praised it to the skies while it didn't do much for me. guess none of u have seen it yet...

Both of them would be at 2 star rating. Both are timepass remakes but are one level below their originals :)
Warning: If you are watching Nepali in a theatre, stay slightly far off from speakers. At home, you have the control :) Someone has to introduce the word "silence" to Srikanth Deva.

i've seen "Kannum Kannum" but found the movie to be too much of a feel good entertainer. so tats the aspect that put me off. some part of the film did remind me of "Yaride nee mohini" which did not help either. i do agree with ur rating for this movie..

Balaji, please do not watch "Nepali" in the theater and even if u watch it at home, do not watch it entirely. watch it in parts as u may spoil get dizzy with all the jump cuts and visual aspects. The editor of this movie has obviously gone crazy editing this movie..

hey
what about the climax of yaaradi nee mohini? it is not even clear if the whole family comes to unite dhanush and nayan thara...dont u think that they need to have shot a more clear and convincing climax? do comment on that...
