It's interesting Vishal is called *Puratchi Thalapathi*, the guy just can't get his Tamizh right. He says *Rowdyisatha alikka poren*, :).Vikatan has given this movie 41 (hugely overrated, there's nothing in it).

this comment if for narain and his romancing in pallikoodam. I liked his romancing style both in chitthiram pesuthadi and pallikoodam. real life romances and lovers may have the same awkwardness in getting close together or expressing emotions and love. it could well be reflected by actors like narain. i personally found his romancing style charming even if awkward.

srivatsan, yeah i noticed the title too. coming up with names for actors has now become like naming political parties. have a few words and come with different combinations :)

indira, interesting... i agree with the awkwardness in real life romances. i think the difference between the way we saw narain is that i didn't see him as trying to convey awkwardness. while u thot it was awkward i thought he was trying to be cute. hence my comments :)

bb, needless to say, i was more curious to read ur thots on thoovaanam...nice review...am glad u pointed out the +s and -s of this offbeat movie...i STILL owe rekhs a review, u beat me to it :-)
good review...i think my write-up will echo ur thots except for one thing: i would've pointed out this one line as a superbly scripted one:
"kaadhaluku-nu oru karpu iruku; adha nee ezhandhutte karthik."

Balaji,

Vishal is from Pattukkottai (Director's hometown), not Pudhukottai[in the film, that is]. You've got confused as most of the people...:)
