Dhanush's Next
I always wondered how long it would be before Dhanush tried to leverage some of the fame he achieved by becoming Rajni's son-in-law. I have my answer now! His next film, a remake of the Kannada superhit Jogi, is named Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram. The original revolved around mother-son bonding and its story was about a villager going to the city and becoming a dreaded don. It was apparently recommended to Dhanush by none other than his father-in-law, who as we all know, especially after Chandramukhi, knows quite a bit about selecting suitable films to remake.
Parattai, ofcourse, is the name thalaivar immortalized in 16 Vayadhinile and the role will probably count as one of his most memorable performances. His inimitable style and dialog delivery made the character quite unforgettable and his famous "Idhepdi Irukku?" in the film might well be one of Tamil cinema's earliest punch lines!
At this early point, based on the story and the title, my guess is that Azhagu Sundaram is Dhanush's name when he resides in the village and Parattai is the name he takes on once he becomes the don. So will he stop with using the name or will he go further and try to act like the original Parattai and frequently pose the question "Idhepdi Irukku?" ? Now that will be blasphemy!

as u know, i am not a great fan of rajni but I PERFECTLY AGREE WITH YOUR LAST LINE! that will indeed be blasphemy!
I've mentioned more than once that i think Simbhu with his "little Super Star" tag is ridiccccccccculous to begin with...wish they realize that u Become a star; you dont call yourself one b4 ur first movie!
skanda, I know. Not that Sarath or Vijayakanth can bash 10 guys at once, but watching Dhanush or Simbu do it just seems too funny. But I guess you have to do action movies to become a star!
when i watch dhanush all i can think about is how much he weighs (or doesn't weigh). how does this guy living in madras and eating dosas and not doing intense physical labor manage to looking like he's starving ***on screen*** (and the camera adds weight).... he must have bulimia.
And also it is going to be directorial debut movie for Raju sundaram.. All dancers becoming directors.. Directors are becoming producers.. Some are actors.. Actors are becoming producers..some are directors..
oru life cycle irukkupa, cine world la
ram, and the aasai to become a superstar seems to be happening earlier in the career with each new actor...
zero, boring? not so sure about that.
skanda, yeah the story does seem perfect for vijay. but he was probably seeing only telugu films and forgot about 'jogi' :)
prakash, as i mentioned in my 'aaru' review, a role as a rowdy is a requisite for one to become a real star in tamil cinema. the same with action films since they're the ones that seem to click (see vishal's career!)
anon, edho paavam olliya irukaan. adhukkaga bulimia solitengale!
karthik, thanx! i forgot to mention the director and other stars. glad u mentioned it :)
Jogi was a raging hit here in karanataka. I am not sure if Dhanush can do a Shivarajkumar in Tamil.
u guys should stop bashing up poor dhanush........he is talented.....not his prob if he looks like he's lived in somalia.......just use ur imagination when u watch his movies and the experience will be so much better:)
Dhanush is fit to act only in third rated porn movies. It gets on to my nerves if I see him onscreen.
Dhanush is talented..ok if u dont agree with 'talented'..he can act to a certain extent..i thought he did a good job in pudhupettai.
RS
hey guys i think BECOS we compromise on our expectations and the std we set for ourselves that kollywd is what it is:(
dhanush is pathetic:(
"talent"...is like beauty...mind of the beholder!!!
