Your reviews are awesome BUT notice that your 'stars' are rather biased. Why I came to this conclusion is because, invariably, on a majority, your starts for any Vijay movie are low. Okay, maybe the quality of those movies do not deserve more stars from you. But this time, I was appalled to see 2 stars for Saravana and Paramasivan, while Aadhi has only 1 1/2!!! Well, I personally think that all 3 are of the same genre and none of them is better than the other. So, though I am not for your 'starring', your reviews always hold my interest.
anon, the stars r probably the most difficult part of the review-writing since i pretty much have to slot all movies into a few categories. so treat it as a simplistic reference rather than an absolute measure.
that said, i would order the 3 pongal movies as 'saravanaa', 'paramasivan' and then 'aadhi'. i liked the 1st half of 'aadhi'. but the overload of violence and lack of pace made a bad combination that made the 2nd half terrible. hence the low star rating :)
and u'll notice the same trend in all vijay movies. vulgarity and violence that don't fit into the tone of the film turn me off. so movies like 'sivakasi' and 'madurey' got a low rating while i liked 'vaseegara' and 'shah jahan' more than most others :)
