BB,
I found this blog during the my early days of blogging. Thought you might be interested :). This person has met Rajini, Raghuvaran in her lifetime(as far as I explored the blog in that ariyadha puriyadha language).

There was even one food product that had Meena and Rajini on the pack's front side.

Hello,
Good picture.

It would be interesting to know what part/region/island within Japan, Rajni is famous in. Or is he truly famous all over Japan? Japan is huge as we all know.

Demographics of the region, reasons why they like him etc. would also be interesting.

Balaji - That's a project for you! Who else but a Rajni fan can do this. It can also be your doctoral thesis!

hi,
i currently stay in japan... its not difficult to understand why they may like rajni. The crowd is not a big percentage but nevertheless a significant one. Mostly the youth...:)

As for cultural similarities, no... good job at likening tamil... but no... they are in no way similar to tamil... .. :)

japanese is more similar and derived from chinese than any other languages. ...

anyhow, its great to know thalaiva san is doing magic here..:) :)

Umm interesting. I have been in Japan for seven years. I have lots of Japanese friends. One thing about Japanese is they like to watch any language film. Like some european movies are popular and korean movies are very famous here. Name any japanese movie after Muthu becoming so much popular. Very few people few thousand know that his name is Rajinikanth. Even some of my japanese friends told they won't see Indian cinema after seeing Muthu. Tokyo film institute released Muthu in Japan as a part of their project. When the film institute guys visited Mumbai they heard that Tamil movie industry makes high number of movies next to Hindi. So they came to Chennai and inquired about a popular actor and they came to know it was rajinikanth. So they decided to see his movie. when they arrived in Chennai Muthu was out of theater but Rajini fans somehow managed to get the crowd and filled in Albert theater. Impressed with his popularity they got muthu to Japan. Since the movie was with dance songs action fantasy all in one Japanese were excited to see the movie. many people even tried to bring different Rajini movies to Japan but were not succesful. And one more thing please refrain from using Racist words like Japs.
