Early Fireworks!
Vijay's Sivakasi is releasing Saturday, October 29 here in San Jose. So I will (hopefully!) get to see it 3 whole days before it opens back home. Cool! Let the fireworks begin...
PS: Vikram's Majaa is slated to open Thursday, November 4.
So, I guess you are not as interested to see Maja as you are to see Sivakasi.. Thursday, November 4th?.. Isn't it the 3rd? :-) Sorry, Balaji, couldn't help it! :-);-) I'm aiming for the 11:15pm show on Friday night...
i remember reading somewhere that Vijay movies are normally not released in the US as he doesn't hv a following there(this was mentioned in an interview with the US distributors). Hv u seen any of Vijay's previous movies in the theatres there? Majaa and Sivakasi might be releasing on Sunday in S'pore.
sandya, oops. yeah its 3rd... and its 11.15pm on saturday right? no shows on friday :)
raju, he he he
kaps, i've heard that before but now it looks like most films r releasing here anyway. not sure how they make their money. even 'february 14' was released in the theatres here! as for vijay, i think almost all his movies r released here nowadays. i've seen gilli, madurey, etc. on the big screen...
preethi, lucky u :) wonder how they decide what releases where. do they split up their prints? or maybe they think the bay area has more vijay fans?!
merino, havent seen either of the trailers yet. but wouldn't have expected anything else, especially since 'sachein' was a flop and the director is the same guy who directed tiruppaachi.
ram, nammoorla pakkara sugame thani. but unless the movies r megahits, the 'theater excitement' would've died down in a month...
Ahem, Balaji (Mr.-know-it-all! :-), I was talking about Majaa 11:15pm show on Friday night (11/4).. That 11:15pm show is still listed at IMC 6 website. I just checked! Again, that's the 11:15pm show on 11/4...
I think you might have confused it with Sivakasi.. I can't get anyone to go with me to go see Sivakasi (husband is so much against Vijay!).. Got to figure out if my parents' want to go see it with me! :-)
As expected the reviews are not great.. Will "Athu oru kana kaalam" beat these two, which got released in Singapore two days back itself?? A big question???
Did you get to see "Sivakasi"? Here, "Majaa" was cancelled :(. "Potti" varale, due to heavy rains in chennai. Hopefully, they screen it this weekend. Waiting for ur review on "Sivakasi".
preethi, 'adhu oru kanaa kaalam' screening here was cancelled for the same reason. 'sivakasi' potti did make it but made me wish it hadnt! the review should make that clear :)
