A Superstar Everywhere!

Chandramukhi is going great guns everywhere...
- Not that there was any doubt but the movie had a 100% opening in TamilNadu with a record-breaking collection in Chennai.
- It is topping the Telugu charts in neighboring Andhra Pradesh
- It has handily beaten Mohanlal's Chandrolsavam which opened the same day and is doing better than the three Vishu releases in Kerala (which is even more surprising considering that CM is a considered an inferior remake of Mohanlal's own Machithrathazhu).
- It is doing great in Karnataka inspite of the still-popular Apthamitra, which is the Kannada remake of Manichithrathazhu.

I heard that CM is running to packed houses in Uganda too...
ram, a hint of sarcasm there i see. considering ME's fate, I simply have to borrow a phrase from your comments to the other post... 2 words: SOUR GRAPES :)
Sour grapes! I don't think so! MX's ROI is much more than that of CM. Both versions of MX put together cost 2 crores and the satellite tv rights alone have fetched Kamal 5 crores! In contrast CM's budget is 20 crores. There is no way its going to match MX's ROI!
Definitely CM is rocking, inspite of certain initial critical reviews.
Since ME & Sachein are lagging behind in their contents, Rajini's charisma had worked out this time.
All the best Rajini, for your next venture.. Will he do KSR's next movie after 'godfather'? But I still don't prefer the name 'jaggubhai'
:)) ...I plead "guilty!"
but I heard that ME is doing well in the A centres which is what seems to be happening even with Kamal's comic ventures...he's too classy for his own good!
Bashing Kamal and Rajni

I wrote to this author not to lump Kamal and Rajni together.Obviously the guy hasnt seen or has forgotten Hey Ram, Virumandi etc.
Balaji
I found the following line in your CM review on geocities: " The boy Daddu(Master Hardik) is the daughter(????) of Ahalya"
:-)
erratum in erratum!
-- prabhu u mean "MX" review, dont you?!
and one real minor thing, Balaji--was trying to find a review of Vijay's "thirumalai" - link wasnt working...
packer, i read that somewhere too. Chiranjeevi was supposed to be the highest paid before and now Rajni has overtaken him with the 15 cr take for CM.
vijay, author seems to have a problem with both rajni and kamal. a response to it would probably take a separate post!
prabhu & ram, thanx for the error notices... both have been fixed.
watched CM in a packed theater this afternoon...I would give the movie 2 stars out of 4...
was funny n entertaining in parts but overall, seemed like a regressive piece of cinema...
rajni didnt have a single scene where the actor or star in him came to the fore...he's still quite charismatic where's that special radiance that he exuded in the pre-Baba days?!
jo was beautiful...turned in a good performance too...
vadivelu was hilarious in a few scenes but was kinda sidelined in the 2nd half...
and, whats an actor of Nasser's calibre doing here?? it was plain embarassing...
everything else was 'okay.'
CM - 2 hrs of Rajini filler and 30 mins of story. AIR can hire P. Vasu for their dramas - he simply lets Rajini recite the entire story in the end!
ram, good summary. but nothing on the climax? r u gonna write a full review for CM anytime soon?
balaji, i hated the climax...i know you thought the movie ended with a "bang." i thought it ended with a whimper...I thought the whole "Lakalaka" stuff was juvenile and unfunny...no, i dont think am going to write a full review of CM...mainly coz I didnt find it inspired or "interesting" enuf for a review...okay okay, I know am getting way 2 arrogant for my own good! so, will quit now!
