Chandramukhi Teaser Trailer

With exactly a month to go before Chandramukhi's release, a small teaser trailer is online at the film's website. Its just a few seconds long and has nothing but a closeup shot of Rajni's face. But hey... its nice to finally see something more than photos!

Oh well... I guess that's what a teaser is supposed to do: to tease. And just seeing a glimpse of the legend with a nice tune from the soundtrack is all it takes to get my anticipation rekindled. I just hope it doesn't end up confusing its entertainment value with needless religious underpinnings á la BABA. I'm hoping for a rousing crowdpleaser evocative of ANNAMALAI or MUTHU.

Yep... the teaser has whetted my appetite quite nicely. Now I'm waiting for a longer trailer to engage me until April 14th! I think we can safely rule out the 'religious underpinnings a la Baba'(as you have nicely put it) seeing how he seems to have learned a lot from Baba. With a strong standalone story rather than a weak story propped up by him, I am hoping for an even better experience than his recent string of movies.

I recall a friend lamenting the fact that he had paid £20 to go and see Baba at the cinema theatre, here in london. That's a staggering 185% more than paying for a regular hollywood movie, and a 100% more than a regular tamil movie!! (value for money? I think NOT!!) I for one do not get the fascination with Rajini movies. I'd take Kamal over Rajini any day of the week and twice on sundays! ...on second thoughts, am I allowed to say that or is it too political?! I hear I could get pelted with stones for saying that in Tamil Nadu ;-)

Aaaahh... Rajni vs Kamal... one of those timeless, passionate arguments that was had so many of in school and college! The other big one I remember was Ilaiyaraja vs MSV. Two clashes where neither side ever gave up even an inch.

Rekhs, I think Nammavar DVD has been released. I remember seeing it in the store here. Don't remember the details but the dialogs between Kamal & Gauthami were casual and displayed a previously unseen openness on premarital sex. I was surprised when I read Kamal's interview saying that it was one of his least favorites and that he wished he hadn't starred in that one...
