I read your blog all the time. Hope it is ok for me to tag you?:-)
Balaji, my condolences on your watching thozha and vedha...
Meanwhile, though it is not entirely believable, Arasangam seems to be a good effort from Gaptun. A special request on a post on Gaptun on reaching the milestone of 150 and remembering some of the good old gaptun specials - Vaidehi kathirundhal, Chatriyan, Pulan Visaranai, Oomai Vizhigal, Chinna gounder etc..
Bart, tats a good idea on a post on Vijaykanth. But i doubt whether there is anything to write bout in his movies. He is never versatile as Kamalahasan or reivents himself like Rajni in his movie. In his entire career he has played two roles, a Honest cop and a Two good to be true Village samaritan....While Kamal has done 10 roles in a film, Vijaykanth has done 2 roles only in his entire career..
na_an, sure its ok. but i gotta warn u that my history on responding to tags isn't exactly good :)
bart, yeah i know. I got the same impression from a couple of the reviews too. Hope I get to watch it soon. Will see if I can come up with enuf stuff for a Captain post :)
skanda, "Vijaykanth has done 2 roles only in his entire career" - I laughed heartily reading that :)
Skanda, thats a very funny but also an insightful comment :)
You forgot one spiritual movie where he came as Lord shiva (Meenakshi thiruvilayadal ??!) :)
But Gaptun has been brave in introducing new directors (Selvamani, Arvindraj, film inst students in general), supporting new heros (vijay in senthoora pandi, surya in periyanna - though both were due to SAC) etc. He deserves applaud for the special leg stunts he did...
IMO, the last decent movie of Captain is Ramana. Most of his movies post-Ramana were down right silly... Haven't watched Arasangam but the reviews are encouraging. So, little bit tempted to watch :)
