Indy 4 Teaser Trailer
There are quite a few big movies releasing this summer but for now, the one I'm most looking forward to is, without a doubt, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. With Spielberg once again assuming directing duties and Harrison Ford once again donning the fedora, I just can't wait to see what the two cook up. A teaser trailer for the film is finally out, giving us the first look at what Indy gets into this time.
It looks like he's dealing with the Germans again this time, atleast for part of the time. I loved the shadow that first introduces the familiar silhoutte and was thrilled by the quick look at the chases and action scenes. The jeep chase on the edge of the mountain seems to be the only one with obvious CGI usage, keeping alive the hope that Spielberg has relied more on old-fashioned stunts, in keeping with the spirit of the series. The trailer - in particular, the scene where Indy misses the truck and slams backwards into the windshield - bears out what both Spielberg and Harrison hinted at from the time the movie was announced - that Indy's advancing years wouldn't be hidden and that a lot of the humor would actually be mined from Indy getting older.
Welcome back professor! Or should that be... Welcome back part-time teacher?!

The rumored storyline fits a timeline about two decades after "Last Crusade" where the Hitler's army was the one that was chasing behind the Holy Grail. Twenty years later, it was the Cold War and so its the turn of the Russians to play villian :)
And Karen Allen (Ford's co start from Raiders of the Lost Ark) also has a role - there is a fleeting scene in the trailer where she drives a truck with Ford and Shea LeBouf as passengers. As the rumors of the storyline goes, Dr. Jones married her and LeBouf is their son.
Balaji, so much news on Robot and no comments yet, Aishwarya, Amitabh and Arjun signed up as per Indiaglitz. But i have serious doubts on Shankar's creativity, that the only dampener.
Don't worry, Balaji.
There are plenty of CG effects in the flick. Just not too many in-your-face types.
dont know much about the new Indiana movie.. but looking forward to seeing it. brings back associated memories of my school days with it. Also looking forward to Anjathe.... Naren and Mysskin. Its got a great review on rediff.

Out of Topic Note:
Saw "Anjathey". Good second movie from Mishkin. Pretty good narration of cop-thief story (ala Vettayadu vilayadu or Kaaka Kaaka) with different backdrop and side-stories.
Worth definitely a watch though not a classic.
anantha, so its the Russians and not the Germans, I guess. and i thot i read somewhere that shia lebouf doesn't play indy's son. we'll see :)
arun, will wait for some official news before posting. if i did a post on the rumors, i'd be posting something everyday :)
dev, i guess i'd be happy as long as its not in-my-face. but won't be as much as fun as old-fashioned stunts :)
indira, good point about the nostalgia. same reason i wanted to see 'rambo' also. but didnt :(
bart, they screened 'vaazhthugal' and 'kaaLai' here in the bay area but not 'anjaathey'!! wish they bring it in after hearing the reviews. would love to see it on the big screen :)
