Online Indian DVD Rentals
Longtime readers may remember that the CEO of an an online Indian movies sale and rental website contacted me regarding using my reviews from bbreviews on the site. The site MyPicks is now online.
Though the influence of Netflix is pretty obvious, the site does look impressive. Its user interface is clean and easy and the well-organized DVD collection looks quite comprehensive at first glance. I clicked on a few movies and the information provided seems correct also.
If movie availability and customer service match what is offered by Netflix, I think MyPicks has a good chance to be successful. What do you guys think of the site?

i am already a member of indianmovieclub.com.. though their collection is good, they have a terrible system of sending and receiving movies. I will check out ur site to see if it is better.
Thanks Balaji. If you remember quite some time back I had asked about good online rentals for Tamil movies in US. I am right now with 1800imall.com(for 15 bucks, you can watch 6 to 8 movies a month depending on your luck and diligence in returning the movies) which is not too bad.(raju, you might want to give them a shot, they dont have a very big collection though)
Hmm.. on a quick look the plan and collection does seem to be similiar to 1800imall.com, will have to probe further..
A problem with 1800imall is they ask you to have 10 movies on your rental queue at any time since there is no guarantee which movies would be in stock to send you next. Thats a pain as it is difficult to pick 10 decent movies from new releases, so you will be forced to pick some old Tamil flicks or Hindi flicks. If you dont mind watching them then good for you. But if you want to watch just the new releases then its a slight pain as most of them are in demand and out of stock or already rented out

This is the first Indian DVD rental site I came across, and I promptly subscribed to it, will update soon on their service.

Btw how does it work.iam seeing them getting added to the rental que and if u say go nothing is happening??.
I have recently joined desicompany.com. Not too bad, but not up to Netflix, I would say.
If this one gets good reviews, I might be tempted

anu, just curious. when u say "u came across", was it from this post or were u already a member?
sen, i havent enrolled so i'm not sure. based on netflix, if u started the trial and said go with some movies in your queue, i'm guessing the first movie will be shipped. maybe the status will be updated a few hrs later. lemme know what happens and how it works.
i just started a trial membership with them! added a lota Kamal hassan movies! pretty decent collection (hard to satisfy me!)
I don't rent..thanks to lack of time.! I usually buy the best ( what I think the best) and watch them in bits and pieces.
