He's Here!

After several postponements, Anniyan, the second most anticipated movie of the year(never mind what Rediff says!) has finally arrived. The movie is guaranteed a great opening, considering the phenomenal advance bookings and the few reviews out so far have been quite positive. Looks like Shankar and Vikram have a hit on their hands. I'll be watching it tonite at IMC6. So watch out for the review in the next couple of days.

Rediff has an interview with Shankar but nothing new from the director though. He talks about the usual stuff including his first script which he has still not made into a movie(and doesn't know if he ever will) and calls Kamal the best actor he has worked with.

I just replied to your comment for my post.. and I repeat.. I am 100% J on you bcos u are gonna watch Anniyan within a few hrs..

Glad to see Kamal getting another feather in his crown.. I am sure he would consider Shankar as among the top 3 directors he has worked with..

For me, Anniyan was the long awaited movie.. since I had known that CM was going to be a remake of something I had seen before..

--> I dont think so...am sure he rates Balachander, Barathiraja and Balu Mahendra above Shankar...though he got the National Award for Indian, it wasnt really a performance-oriented film...and personally I think that it (his performance) was nowhere near in the league of his classics like Nayagan, Moondraam Pirai or Mahanadhi...

ok guys.. jaga vangikkarenn.. I was really excited about shankar heaped praise on Kamal.. actually, kamal has worked with eminent directors from different states, right? The list includes Shyam Benagal, Viswanath, Singeetham, et al.. so may be top 10..

Anyway, enjoy thoroughly, Balaji.. I have waited for over a year for this movie.. why not another 1 week or so? It is a 3-hour movie.. enjoy every minute of it.. You might be tempted to say that the length could have been cut short.. But, think otherwise, like Lagaan..

With a heavy heart, I send you to IMC6... :-(
