Madras Bashai

A hilarious, entertaining piece tracing the origins of our very own 'Madras Tamil'. The professional look of the article contrasts wonderfully with the tongue-in-cheek analysis of the different words and their etymologies. I laughed out loud at several places while reading this one. Padichify and ensoy, OKvaa?

Heh Heh...very very funny!! You are right about the layout of the article. The appearance of the article gives no clue as to what will transpire as you start reading. I kept breaking into peels of laughter. Whoever took the time to compose that article needs to be congratulated. On a sidenote, I have been out of Madurai too long to compare Madras Tamil to Madurai Tamil (although now I grudgingly realize that Madras Tamil is in a league of its own).

Well this Blog is about random ramblings, right? In the same vein as in the naming of some recent movies (for instance, Machi, Dhil, Joot), here are some more potential movie names (no offense to anyone):

"kuruttu kabodhi" ya pathiya.(referring to a movie here). Imagine hearing that as you are walking along a road in TN (if you are walking on the road, the reference may not be to the movie).

"Kozha adi sandai" (could be a movie by Visu)

"Kenai"

"Lollu party" (like Sound Party)

"Saavugraaki"

"Pistha" (one of those movies where they portray the hero as a rowdy)

"Vootle solltiya?" (could be a Pandiarajan movie)

Okay I will stop before compromising my dignity...

Will list some more titles that might be beneath gopi's dignity!
"Nijaaru Kizhinjaa Bejaaru" (once Visu goes PG-13)
"Bagilu Pakkam Rayilu" (SJ Suryah material)
"Kaepmaarikku Kannaalam" (Satyaraj comedy)
"Cycle Gap-ka Minimaa Appeetu" (Titanic remake)
"Sulpaettaakkull Phosphata" (Parthiban's follow-up to "Kudaikkul Mazhai")

gopi, Pistha is already taken! There was a movie with Karthik and Nagma by that name. And i will not be surprised if Satyaraj's next movie is called 'lollu party'! u can then sue for royalties :-)

"Pistha is already taken"

Official Announcement:
Facing pressure to change his movie name and since he is an auspicious person (yeah right) by nature, Gopi will rename his movie to...Paruppu. Apparently luck smiles on his productions if they start with the letter "P".
