hi balaji,
i need some info. im looking for a movie directed by visu...in which visu plays manorama's brother and kishmu plays manorama's husband...and s ve shekhar plays manorama's son...the story goes something like...visu wants his daughter to marry one of the sns of his sister manorama. but when he comes to meet her...he kinda arranges s ve shekhar...to marry rekha...and manorama's other son, who is a poet...to marry pallavi...
and manorama's daughter loves someone, whose grand dad...played by poornam vishvanathan...is a freedom fighter...and so on and so forth...so he makes a sabadham to kishmu that he will make all the marriages happen...and stuff like that...ive been eating my brains to know the name of the movie...can you help me?

Harini, it looks like you are talking about Vedikkai En Vaadikkai released in 1989. I just entered Visu, Manorama, Kishmu, Rekha in Yahoo Search and found this immediately! You didn't have to eat your brains after all! :-) ;-)

Looks like Sakthi Chidambaram might sue you for the bad review you gave on the movie..beware!!!seriously, dunt you think there is other worthwhile movies to review than this crap...

Lol,I just hope that Rajadhi Raja ends up being the worst movie of the year and not anything worse further.
Off-Topic:While browsing through your other reviews,I was surprised to see you're high rating given for a film Pasanga which wasn't given much media coverage/appreciation,but I would watch the film as I trust you:d.
Just a month ago,I dreamt of how a film about school kids will be,apart from so-many college campus films,Pasanga seems to be a good answer.:)

I'm looking for a review on "Siva Manasule Sakhti".. have you watched it? I guess it must be a better movie to do a review than Rajadhi Raja? Thx!

Balaji, given Thalaivar's movie name, you should have given Rajathi Raja atleast one star :-)

By far the worst movie I've seen in a long long time is Raajathi Raja. Horrible movie. No structure and no grace. Someone should sue Shakthi Chidambaram to dare use the title of a Rajini film. A disgrace to the title. Bugger should be disbarred from making any more crappy films like this...

Kay,

As if the original RR was superb.

skanda, lol good one. but sadly, not too many worthwhile movies out there right now I think :)

ganesh, I hope so too. and yes, 'pasanga' is a must-see :)

prin, thanx! but considering there r rewind reviews(iruvar, punnagai mannan, etc.) on here that I haven't moved to bbreviews, u could say I've crossed 750 already! :)

anon, SMS is one of the ones I missed reviewing this yr. good start but didn't like it too much after that. yes, its better than RR but that's not saying too much :)

arun, for that reason I should probably award it a bomb :)

kay, I can understand ur frustration :)

anon, maybe not superb but definitely enjoyable and entertaining :)

Was wondering on what criteria do you award a bomb rating or a 4 star rating ? Last time you awarded 4 star rating to a movie that was reviewed around the time it was released is 7 yrs back. Infact there are only 2 movies in bbreviews that fit the category I am talking about
(Kutti and Sethu). I know its subjective, but just curious what difference is 3.5 from 4 and 0.5 and bomb ? :)

Anon,

Original RR was no classic, agreed but this one sure made that look like one!!!

balaji,

"definitely enjoyable and entertaining"...for you perhaps.

narayanan, problem is that there's no scientific or mathematical criterion for the rating. its just how i feel at the end of the movie. so 4 stars would be for something that literally blew me away. i'd say 'subramanyapuram' came real close and today i don't know why i didnt rate it 4 stars. but movies like 'kaadhal' and 'pasanga', its easier - the climaxes. in the same way, a bomb just has no redeeming factors while a 1/2 star had something that didnt make it a total disaster :)

anon, yes, for me. and for quite a few others too since it was big BO hit :)

Saw Pasanga this weekend. Enjoyed it. Small flaws - felt even the interval block (fight between two fathers) wasn't built effectively. But overall, a very few ignorable flaws. Best movie of the year sofar.
