Hey Ram!
Regular bbthots readers probably know Ram as well as they know me. One of the earliest bbreviews readers, he has been a regular reader and commentor here too. It should've been pretty clear from his comments that he is a huge Kamal fan. Ram went to India last week (as clear from his lack of comments for last week's posts!) to get engaged. Couldn't have gotten himself a better engagement gift as he went to a restaurant with his fiance and ran into none other than his favorite actor. A dream come true for him...
Ram goes to India for a week, goes to a restaurant and runs into Kamal. I go to India for 3 weeks, go to a restaurant and spot the thaathaa who reads Kumgumam(or is it Dinakaran?) in those TV ads. Life just isnt fair!

Preethi..Kamal is a great artiste and I adore/revere him for that. What he does in his personal life is his own business and does not affect me.
BTW, most of our Gods had affairs and were womanizers as well ;)
I agree with Preethi .. Just treat him as an actor.. He's got very bad temper and attitude and not to mention arrogance as told by many in the film industry.

I wasn't trying to say Kamal is God or should be treated like one. But hating him just because he had/has affairs and ignoring his professional achievements is sad.

and, regarding the reverence we have for actors and stars, I think its very much a part of the world of cinema and cine fans...we tend to deify personalities for their achievements which I dont think is a sin...Kamal the actor is the one who made me love good cinema and appreciate quality acting...there is no denying the fact that as a versatile actor, he's achieved a lot more than a lot of others in Indian cinema...as BB once said, along with Mani Ratnam, he really is trying to take Thamizh Cinema to the next level...the lines between the reel and real lives are blurry but thats just the nature of the game...in India, cinematic tastes are almost like religion - intensely personal and vulnerable to attack!
Pushpa, if merely taking a photo along with your favourite actor is equivalent to "revering him" or treating him like "a god", then I wonder what you would say about those fans who built a temple for Kushboo :-)

I don't know about many people in this blog.. but I have a life and most of you should get one.. If you don't ever 'dream' that you will bump into your favorite actor, singer, icon or something miraculous will happen to you to make your day.. that there's no point to living as a human being on this earth.. Better off being born as an animal! :-).. (Then again, maybe animals have their version of Rajinis and Kamals amongst their midst too.. How do we know?! :-);-)
I felt Ram deserved congratulations for his engagement more than anything else.. Him meeting Kamal that too on what was probably his first date out with his fiancee and bumping into this favorite star made it memorable for him. Now that what I call.. stars all being lined up especially for you. I congratulated him because I thought he really did hit a double jackpot on that particular day.
So, if you think I'm crazy for saying that to him.. suits me just fine.. thank you very much..
More than three quarters of the planet thinks like me fortunately/unfortunately and if Balaji, by some fluke chance, ends up taking a pic with Rajini.. You will see me again congratulating him too because it was his lucky day..

Is it just me or is Kamal really is looking his age more than he ever did. The darkened hair and sort of an aged facial feature with droopy eyes seem to suggest one can't possibly defy nature's greatest will...gravity! Well, the man is in his 50s and for that, he looks smashing nevertheless >>>
