That's amazing, Balaji. All three films getting 1.5 stars. I don't think I can ever remember any set of movie reviews, you published, that had the same number of stars for all of them. Congrats! New milestone! :-) ;-)

Ram, I was just looking at my reviews back in 2000 (I used to run a site, Tamil Thirai Valai, back then! The site is still there, if you'd like to see it). My god... you are right.. We had some of our best films that year.. Ram, you just scratched the surface with Mugavari.. Alaipaayuthe (which I saw on screen 4 times, jolling Madhavan! :-), Rhythm, Paarthaen Rasithaen, Hey Ram!, Thenaali, Bharathi.. and even films that weren't so revered back then (but look like masterpieces now!): Kandukondain Kandukondain, Ezhaiyin Sirippil (which I actually liked!), Vaanathai Pola, Vetrikkodi Kattu.. and even the much despiced Kushi (compared the worse stuff that SJS comes out with now! :-(

All said and done, 2000 was a grand year for Tamil Cinema.. We did embark on the new millenium in style! :-)

While this year has certainly been disappointing, I still feel the month of December shall give atleast a couple of good movies.
Veyyil, Adaikalam (Prashanth without a pair :)), Poi, Mozhi and Chennai Kadhal...
Fingers crossed and eyes/ears wide open.

Srivatsan, I hope you did much more than click the link, gloat at Ajit's picture and wonder if I was a theevira thala rasigai. Did you actually see the site or just settle for thala? :-) ;-)

I thought everybody here knew I was a thala fan! :-) Vaazhga Billa 2007! (Just kidding! :-) ;-)..

sandya, any kind of a milestone is always nice :)

ram, oh yeah, that was a wonderful yr for movies... this year was truly bad and we just have to fondly remember years like 2000 for what we r capable of producing...

nandhu, review coming this week...

srivatsan, agree w/ most of what u said. and yes, its much better than 'vallavan'...

skanda, any movie that bores me automatically earns less than 2 stars. and i was bored thro most of the 1st half in 'sivappadhigaaram'. it would've taken an extraordinary 2nd half to make me forget about the 1st half but there was nothing extraordinary about the 2nd half either...

srivatsan, will try to watch 'mann'...
saw 'amirtham' a little while back. was disappointed. thot it was different but not done well. but agree with u on the songs though...

bart/ram, i think 'veyyil' and 'mozhi' would be top of the list for me...

//Ever since *RED* was released, I have a fear anything related to thala :) be it picture or review. //

NOwadays, he is back to choosing movies which carry some scope for proving his acting skills !

You can definitly expect something new and different from him
