Sudhesi - Top 10 Questions

Tonight's Top 10 list! The top 10 questions I had after watching Captain's Sudhesi...

10. How can someone who looks like Vijayakanth make disparaging comments about the appearance of someone who looks like Karunas?

9. Is there really a school where the teacher sends students off to his own house to do the household chores? And then stuffs the boy's body in a bag and throws it in a sewer when he dies accidentally?

8. Does any Chief Minister walk around with a detonator stuffed in the waistband of his veshti?

7. Can anyone simply claim to be a CBI officer and meet the CM with apparently no security checks?

6. Is it really that easy to get the cell phone number of the CM and reach him at any time of the day or night?

5. Why does a bomb detonator have as many buttons(in as many colors) as a TV remote?

4. Is it possible, in the few minutes one gets when someone is getting a box from another room in the house, to install a complicated bomb inside a watch?

3. If a bomb explodes in a house with 2 people inside, is it possible for 1 person to die and another to escape, by being flung out of the house, with just a single injury?

2. After Vijayakanth loses his file with all his certificates, how exactly can he get "another one ready" by working on his computer?

And the number 1 question I had after watching Sudhesi...

1. Who in their right mind would ever name their son Sudhesi?

If Vijayakanth promises that if he came to power, he would never make another movie like Sudhesi, he'd probably get a lot more votes :-)

Hope 2005 is the year where there was no movie from him..

If you ask too many questions, you might be arrested under POTA. Anyway, the crowd viewing the Captain movies doesn't mind such logical fallacies. They anyway go there to look at Captain's paunch :-)

karthik, yeah every movie of his recently could bring up a ton of questions :)

prasanna, i thot of that too. but there's always the hope that some director could convince him to do another 'ramanaa' :)

kaps, LOL. curious to know how big the crowd was for 'sudhesi'. i remember reading that he had instructed his fans to make it a hit at all costs to show his power...

If Praveen is to be believed, the movie was a sellout

Sri,
I take offense. That's blasphemy. One can't count more than 50 if he wishes to make an all-time list of Tamil films that were more rewarding than "Narasimha". I am serious. If something comes from that man (not that I found anything worth in the same league), you better await it with a bated breath.

Hey, Vijayakanth isn't so bad. I liked the last 2 movies of his that I've seen -- Ramana, and Engal Anna. So I'm not sure what you guys are complaining about ;-)

Engal Anna, for those who haven't seen it, is a decent film. But there's about 1/2 hour of comedy towards the beginning that's quite hilarious, thanks to Vadivelu, Pandiyarajan and Prabhu Deva. Funny enough for me to recommend the movie.

The biggest question, however, is why would anyone ant to watch a movie named Sudhesi?!
:)

I laughed so hard when I read your 10-pointer review. I have to watch this one. Even funnier was Ram's blog about the sequel to Sudesi which he aptly named "Paradesi"...
Too much vonly!

Balaji-

Seriously, hats off to your patience level for watching Sudhesi, i can't believe that captain thinks he can get away with his acting and physique, guess this movie was typically meant for his pre-election campaign to win the villagers notes.

I am surprised that Captain's movies are even being released in theaters here. Among your questions, my pick was question number 3 :)

At 11:51 PM, Blogger Balaji said...

ram, LOL. missed ur brand of humor all these days :)

nithya, actually i've seen some good movies recently like 'chithiram pesudhadi' and 'pattiyal'. so 'sudhesi' provided a good break :)

srijith, all innocent questions :)

Sri, actually captain's movies usually fall into the 'so bad they are entertaining' category. so required less patience that some other movies i've sat thro :)

prakash, yes 'engal anna' was a decent entertainer. and didn't have much of the image stuff for him either :)

kuttichuvaru, adhellam paathiruken. wasnt blogging @ that time. if i was, u'd have probably seen a similar post after i watched each of his movies :)

mitr, yeah it was supposed to be more a campaign vehicle for him. but itll probably end up costing him votes :)

filbert, if by 'here' u mean the US, then no, captain's movies r not released in the theaters here... saw this on the small screen...

See Balaji you wouldn't have had to contend with any of these questions, had you like started the film Sudesi, seen the credits and paused and ejected the tape.

You could've spent some quality time with your family! Hell you could've even watched one of your kids baby tv shows and still been better off!

At 2:44 PM, Blogger Balaji said...

sivajini, but then i wouldn't had a hearty laugh at all those scenes i mention in those questions :)

and we watch the movies only after kids r in bed. so no sacrificing quality time with family for sure :)

Balaji you are hilarious and Ram's post was an equal riot. This post reminds me of reviews on www.lolluexpress.com. Great job guys.
