Trivia(l) Pursuit

Ramkumar talks about Chandramukhi being the first Rajni movie with a female name after he became a Superstar(I guess the last one was Bhairavi)! Which led me to wonder... What was the last Rajni movie that did not in some way or form, refer to him. i.e. which was the last Rajni movie title that was not the name of his character(Baasha, Muthu, etc.), a description of him(Raajaadhi Raja, Adhisaya Piravi, etc.) or referred to him in some way(Naan Mahaan Alla, Anbukku Naan Adimai, etc.)? Do we have to go as far back as Avargal or Moondru Mudichu?

Ramkumar is wrong..sort of:) Valli was the name of the heroine....but Rajini only had an extended guest role in that film

  3. but the 'kai' was his, wasnt it? :) so still refers to him... guess we should eliminate references to his body parts too!

  5. i think we have a winner :) i was thinking 'Adutha Vaarisu' but 'Viduthalai' beats it handily.

Follow-up trivia question - What story was 'Adutha Vaarisu' based on?

I believe "Kodi Parakuthu" released in 1987 may be the last one without any description as discussed by you guys. "Viduthalai" got released in 1986 "Un Kannil Neer Vazhinthal" in 1985 & "adutha vaarisu" in 1983.

  8. ram, good catch! 'kodi parakkuthu' definitely sounds like the answer to the trivia(l) question.

vijays, yep, 'anastasia' it is. Though i saw the animated movie quite a while back, I didnt make the connection until recently.

zero, i think we can safely say 'naattukkoru nallavan' refers to Rajni. So the winner for now is 'kodi parakkuthu' :)
